Wozzeck, a poor soldier who is subjected to dehumanizing experiments by a doctor and a cruelly exploitative society.He is in a troubled relationship with his lover, Marie, and becomes consumed by jealousy when he suspects her of infidelity. Overwhelmed by his mental deterioration, Wozzeck eventually murders Marie in a fit of rage.
